The National Democratic Congress (NDC) wishes to extend its warmest greetings and best wishes to the Muslim Community and all Ghanaians on the occasion of Eid-ul–Adha.Muslims are celebrating this special period of spiritual cleansing at a time the nation is preparing feverishly to go to the polls to elect leaders for both Presidential and Parliamentary positions in the December 7, 2012 elections.The NDC recognizes and commend the role of various faiths in the country’s spiritual and socio-economic development. Your role undoubtedly motivated the then NDC government to institute two national public holidays to climax Eid –ul- Fitr and Eid –ul-Adha the two major events on the Islamic Calendar.While joining the Muslim community to give thanks to Allah on this solemn occasion, we urge all Ghanaians to commit themselves to free, fair and peaceful elections as springboards for stability and development to help build a better Ghana.We reiterate that the NDC government remains committed to our social contract with all Ghanaians, irrespective of religion, tribe and creed, and will continuously pursue policies that will enhance the quality of life in all spheres of the nation’s endeavour. That, the NDC believes would help utilize the potentials of the nation to the fullest.We wish Muslims and all Ghanaians a happy and fruitful Eid –Ul-Adha.Long Live Islam, Long Live Ghana.Signed.
