Mahama Ayariga, Information and Media Relations Manager Government has played down fears of insecurity in the country following gun and machete attacks, series of fire outbreaks as well as threats of galamsey mining across the country.Information and Media Relations Minister, Mahama Ayariga has described the attacks as isolated cases which cannot be described as a state of insecurity in the country.He was speaking to Joy FM shortly after a meeting of Security Chiefs with President John Mahama at the Flag Staff House, Friday.The meeting was to brief the president on current security situation in the country.On Sunday, a major fire outbreak swept the entire Kantamanto market in Accra, reducing what used to be a busy hub for business to a desolate area with the charred structural remains.Affected traders wept and clashed with police at some point, threatening to build their own shops, contrary to the promise by the government to build modern shops for them.In the heat of the brouhaha with the traders, four people were brutally murdered in two separate cases of gun and machete attacks in the Ashanti Region, this week.On Wednesday, two were gunned down and butchered in broad day light in Ashtown, Kumasi, in what police suspect was retaliatory attacks, with some political undertones.Kwadwo Asamoah, popularly called Gauso who was one of the deceased persons allegedly subjected an NDC sympathizer, Maphus, to a similar attack in the heat of the 2012 December election. Maphus survived that attack.In Obuasi, two other Ghanaians were also shot dead by some Chinese small case miners after a “concession dispute.”These attacks have caused some state of insecurity
