David Addy has cup glory in sight
By Ameenu Shardow
Ghana defender David Addy is targeting cup glory this term with Vitoria Guimaraes.
The 22-year-old only joined the ‘Conquerors’ at the beginning of the season but has already established himself as the first choice left-back of the side.
The ex All Stars player has had a fine season so far but is looking to cap of his impressive debut campaign at the Estadio D. Afonso Henriques by winning a trophy.
“We (Vitoria Guimaraes) are through to the semi finals of the Tarca Cup with a real chance of winning,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“We are now 7th in the league and look quite a way adrift the top but we are still pushing hard.
“Hopefully we will finish well and qualify for Europe next season but also winning the Tarca Cup also qualifies us for the Europa Cup.
“So aside our top flight ambitions, success in the Tarca Cup may well see us in Europe.”
Addy was a member of the Ghana U20 side that won the World Cup in 2009.
