NPP is usurping powers of the Electoral Commission – NDC

President John Mahama The John Mahama 2012 Campaign has accused the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) of deliberately misinforming the public about the collation of results from the December 7 polls.According to the John Mahama 2012 Campaign the NPP’s claims of winning the presidential elections are baseless.A statement signed by the Campaign Coordinator, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah said the move by the NPP to declare the results of the elections is a flagrant breach of Ghana’s electoral laws which vests the authority to declare the results of general elections in the EC.“The misinformation and falsehood being peddled by the NPP are part of the grand scheme to cause confusion and create unnecessary panic and tension, knowing very well that they are nowhere near victory”, the statement said.The deputy coordinator of the John Mahama 2012, Edward Omane Boamah in an interview on Joy FM’s Election Headquarters accused the NPP of deliberately preparing the ground for chaos since the NPP claims of winning are not true.He assured the NDC supporters that President Mahama per the number of votes collated so far has taken an unassailable lead and he’s sure of victory when the results are announced by the EC Chairman.He also called on civil society organizations and religious bodies to bring the NPP to order.
