Accept Election Results – EU Advises

The European Union’s (EU) Mission in Ghana has told Citi News it expects a close contest in this year’s December general elections but expects Ghanaians and the main political actors to accept the results after December 7.The EU has been supporting Ghana’s election activities and is currently supporting this year’s elections with about $10 million.Although the EU has indicated it will not send down a fully fledged Observer Mission, it will send specialists to support the process.In an exclusive interview with Citi News,, the Head of EU Mission in Ghana, Ambassador Claude Mataern stated that Ghanaians should accept the election results to avoid any disturbances."It will be the responsibility of Ghanaians to respect the decision of the vote. It is clear that it will be a close election race. Probably what is important is that Ghanaians are united with the decisions taken by the voters
